Traffic Safety in North Rustico and All Island Communities

November 5, 2024 by Brad Trivers Leave a Comment

A-scenic-road-in-a-small-town-with-visible-traffic-safety-improvements-such-as-sidewalks-traffic-lights-and-pedestrian-pathways.

I raised concerns about road safety in North Rustico, which has become a significant issue due to the town’s rapid growth and increased traffic. I emphasized the need for improvements like sidewalks, traffic lights, and other traffic-calming measures along Route 6 to ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians, especially our seniors and children. Public Transit – More Often Year-Round

March 12, 2024 by Brad Trivers Leave a Comment

On March 12, 2024 I asked questions about Public Transit to the North Shore of PEI. The North Shore Summer Shuttle has been offered for a number of years, but with extended shoulder seasons has not been early enough, and does not run late enough. In the winter only two bus runs a day happen […]

Clay Road Improvement Policy

May 25, 2023 by Brad Trivers Leave a Comment

Our clay and dirt roads need continuous improvement to meet the demands of increased traffic from population growth and tourism – and because of warmer winters due to climate change.  Here are my questions on the topic of developing a comprehensive policy of when to fund the improvement of roads along the “road continuum”. Mr. […]

Allow Shared Driveways

On November 9, 2022, I asked questions on three topics to help improve the ability for lot owners to provide housing: Allow a single driveway to be shared for access to at least two permanent residences. Provide supports for cottage businesses to convert to year-round homes. Allow garden suites to be lived in by children […]

Rte 13 and Toronto Road – Disallow Passing

Where Toronto Road meets Rte 13 in Mayfield the south-bound traffic on Rte 13 is allowed to pass. However it is very difficult to see north-bound traffic that may be turning left onto Toronto Road. The suggestion is that south-bound traffic not be allowed to pass near this intersection. There have been several close calls […]
