Confed Trail run-off ruins land in Emerald

The issue is concerning a lot in the center of the village of Emerald.  The road adjacent was raised and this directs all the run-off from the Confederation Trail onto this land.  Perhaps ditching can be put in place to prevent this.

Action on High-Speed Internet – FINALLY!

September 11, 2018 by Brad Trivers Leave a Comment

High Speed Internet

In their April budget the government announced a new, government-owned, high-speed internet backbone. It would take years to build and be very expensive. Accessibility at Palliative Care Facility

My wife is currently a patient at the Palliative care facility in Charlottetown. With the exceptional good weather over the last month I have been taking my wife out for walks in her wheelchair. I am amazed that a cross walk across Murchinson Lane at the entrance into this facility doesn’t exist. But they are […]

Power Lines in New Glasgow

Hey Brad, I was driving down Rt 13 today, as I do every day, and I am really surprised by the new highish voltage power lines being added. The road is now lined with what appears to be marching men and it looks like this is going straight through the heart of the New Glasgow? […]

Solar panels a feasible solution for North Star Arena cost reduction?

What is the cost-benefit analysis for solar panels on the North Star Arena to reduce costs?  Is there an opportunity for a funding partnership with provincial and federal governments? (e.g. 1/3 – 1/3 – 1/3)

Stanley Bridge roundabout – a four-way stop was all that was needed

stanley-bridge-roundabout-location

The 3-way stop at the Stanley Bridge intersection (St. Mary’s Road and Rattenbury Road) was confusing for tourists.  To solve the problem the Department of Transportation designed and issued a tender for a roundabout – without consulting any local residents or businesses (they found out by reading the tender notice in the newspaper).  A cheaper […]

Improve Brookvale Ski Park and eliminate $380,000 per year cost to taxpayers

Brookvale Ski Park budget

“Why can’t Brookvale Ski Park operate with a profit?  It is forecasted to lose $380,900 in the 2015-2016 budget. For example if the Lodge was renovated with a licensed restaurant like most other ski hills it should be able to generate additional revenue.  Also, to improve customer service, on busy days 4 passengers per chair lift […]
