I rose in the Legislative Assembly to recognize Lennon Recovery House, a vital recovery-oriented sober living home in Rustico. For several years, Lennon House has provided accommodation and support for up to 22 individuals recovering from substance use disorders and mental health challenges, with tremendous backing from the local community. In September, Lennon House expanded its services by opening the Transitional Housing Program, which features four winterized log cabins built on land donated by Blue Bay Farms. This program serves as an important intermediate step for residents transitioning from residential care to permanent housing, promoting self-sufficiency and stability. On November 20, Lennon House will host a sold-out event, “An Evening of Inspiration and Hope,” at the Rodd Charlottetown, featuring stories of recovery, conversations, and entertainment in support of their mission. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has worked tirelessly to make Lennon Recovery House the success it is today.
Thank you, Madame Speaker.
It is a pleasure to rise today to recognize Lennon Recovery House.
For several years now, Lennon Recovery House has been a recovery-oriented sober living home in Rustico. With tremendous support from the local community, the house offers accommodation for up to 22 residents, and supportive residential programming for these individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
The mission of Lennon Recovery House is to empower individuals recovering from addictions and mental health challenges, providing a temporary home in a supportive and transformative environment where residents can heal, grow, and rebuild their lives.
In September, the Lennon House Transitional Housing Program officially opened – consisting of 4 fully furnished and winterized log cabins built on land donated by their neighbour Blue Bay Farms. This program serves as an intermediate step between residential living and permanent housing, assisting individuals in achieving greater autonomy and self-sufficiency, which in turn enhances their likelihood of maintaining housing stability within the community.
On November 20, Lennon House will host a sold-out event called “An Evening of Inspiration and Hope.” This inspiring night will take place at the Rodd Charlottetown at 6pm, featuring powerful stories of transformation, insightful conversations, entertainment and dinner – all in support of Lennon House’s mission to build resilience, foster community, and provide a foundation for lasting recovery.
Thank you to all who have worked tirelessly over the years to make Lennon Recovery House the success it is today.
