Federal Conservative Party of Canada leader Andrew Scheer and his family visited North Rustico for Canada Day this year, including the boat parade. Â Thanks to Paul Doiron for providing the boat – Doiron Fisheries themselves celebrating 60 years of business this year!
Andrew Scheer is a down-to-earth, intelligent, and positive leader who himself represents the #backtobasics philosophy. Â Two points he mentioned were that the Justin Trudeau government did not choose a Minister of Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency from our region – but from Toronto, and the Official Opposition had to really push to ensure that a judge from Atlantic Canada was appointed as a supreme court justice. Â This despite the fact that all 32 MP’s from Atlantic Canada are part of the Justin Trudeau caucus!
