BRAD TRIVERS TO SEEK THE PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE NOMINATION FOR DISTRICT 18, RUSTICO – EMERALD
Charlottetown – New Glasgow resident, IT Professional and volunteer, Brad Trivers has announced his intention to seek the Progressive Conservative Party nomination in District 18, Rustico – Emerald to run against the encumbent – Health Minister Carolyn Bertram.
Brad coaches U6 soccer and helps to organize the Red Island Relay multi-sport race. He is an active member of the Central Queen’s United Church and plays hockey with the Rustico Oldtimers. When he is not parenting, volunteering and working to grow his business he enjoys singing, acting, and playing guitar at community events.
Brad believes that the role of an MLA is to work for the constituents; to listen to, and understand their needs and ensure that their hard-earned tax money is spent wisely to meet these needs. “The current government is out of touch with rural Islanders”, says Trivers, “and is taking taxpayers for granted. Our government is asleep at the wheel, overspending and mismanaging critical areas like health care and our doctor shortage.”
“PEI is a great place to live, work and raise a family, and it’s the people that make all this possible. It’s essential that the people of District 18 have strong representation in government to bring their concerns and ideas to the forefront. Together we can build a prosperous long-term economy, reverse the trend of people leaving our Island to look for work, and allow our children to be successful Islanders of the future.” says Trivers.
Brad grew up on a farm in Northern Ontario that raised beef and sweet corn. Both of his parents were school teachers. Brad has over 18 years experience in information technology, working with companies in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ottawa and Charlottetown. In 2004 he moved back to PEI with his wife to start a family and begin his own IT consulting and web development business. Brad and his wife Karen have two children aged 2 and 4.
