UPDATE – The presentation with audio was published to YouTube on April 4, 2016: It is no secret that the Premier’s mandate to the Minister of Communities, Land and Environment includes implementing the recommendations of the Handrahan Report of the Task Force on Land Use Policy. It also includes reducing the number of municipalities on PEI via […]
Crushed asphalt in cemetery, ditches and yards on Rte 2 in Springfield
Much of the crushed asphalt that was put on the shoulders of Rte 2 in Springfield in summer 2015 has been pushed into the ditches, people’s yards, and the Summerfield United Church Cemetery. Residents and the caretaker of the cemetery are asking what sort of help can be provided by the government to clean this up.

Oysters for Culture on Mussel Leases
For several years there has been an ongoing debate as to whether multiple species of shellfish may be grown on a single lease. Primarily mussel growers would like to grow cultured oysters on their leases. The demand and price of oysters has steadily risen and growing oysters is very lucrative. The Standing Committee on Agriculture and […]
Need street light at corner of Taylor Rd and Rattenbury Rd
This has been raised in the community (usually with the Community Center AGM) over the last four years. The location for the light would be where the Taylor Road intersects the Rattenbury Road. Small Business Micro-loans
So glad to see that the government has finally implemented a program to help entrepreneurs get the capital they need to operate. This is something that was part of my election platform in District 18 Rustico-Emerald, and I have been fighting for small business micro-loans in the legislature since the spring of 2015. …a micro-business is one-person, two-person […]
Rte 239 – Civic number conflict – rename to St Patrick’s Road South
The name of St. Patrick’s Road was used for decades on the sign at Rte 2 just west of Hunter River, but four years ago they changed it to Rte 239. As it ends up the province had made a mistake because further down on Rte 239 is another section called “St. Patrick’s Road” and there […]
