Use Confederation Bridge to carry new power cables

Would it not be more cheaper, more environmentally sustainable to run the submarine cables through the Confederation Bridge?  Was the bridge built with this capability in mind? References

Reduce or eliminate the Confederation Bridge toll.  For example a pass for Islanders at a reduced rate – even a $5 refund/rebate.
