The issue is concerning a lot in the center of the village of Emerald. The road adjacent was raised and this directs all the run-off from the Confederation Trail onto this land. Perhaps ditching can be put in place to prevent this.
Crosswalk Marking On Route 2 In Hunter River
Dear Brad Trivers, I have been concerned about there being only a crosswalk sign but no crosswalk painted on the road from Central Queens to Harmony House and the Hunter River Community Centre/ Library. Everyday I see people speeding on route 2. Lots of the time it takes 3 mins for me to wait for […]
Oil Burner Regulations
Changes are planned to the “Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act Regulations” that will require all oil burner work to be done by license oil burner mechanics (important primarily because of the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning). This means they have to be a factory-trained technician in a specific type of oil burner, and/or have a […]

Beach Parking at North Rustico Harbour Blocking Traffic
People park at the North Rustico Harbour, especially on Breakwater Road, to get access to the beach (free). The road narrows down to one lane, is sometimes blocked. This causes problems for locals in accessing their property, and there are many times where a fire truck or ambulance may not be able to get through […]
Improve waste disposal drop-off centers
Waste and compost above and beyond what can be picked up at residences can be taken to Waste Watch Drop-off Centers (WWDC) such as the New London dump. The following issues were raised: “Only one staff person is on duty, so there is no one to aid with unloading of larger waste items.” “For residential […]
Electricity price increase charged for full billing period
When an increase in electricity rates occurs the entire bill that encompasses the rate increase date has the increase applied to it. Only the portion after the rate increase date should use the new rate. For example rate increase came into effect on March 1, 2016 but if a client billing period is from February […]
